Teens → Adolescence (from Latin: adolescere meaning "to grow up") is a transitional stage of physical sex and mental human development generally occurring between puberty and legal adulthood (age of majority), but largely characterized as beginning and ending with the teenage stage. According to Erik Erikson's stages of human development, for example, a young adult is generally a person between the ages of 20 and 40, whereas an adolescent is a person between the ages of 13 and 19. Adolescence can also be defined more simply, as the threshold from childhood to adulthood. Scholars have found it difficult to agree upon a precise definition of adolescence, because it can be approached from various angles. A thorough understanding of adolescence in today's society depends on information from various perspectives, most importantly from the areas of psychology, biology, history, sociology, education, and anthropology. Within all of these perspectives, it can be generalized that adolescence is viewed as a transitional period whose chief purpose is the preparation of children for adult roles. Historically, puberty has been heavily associated with teenagers and the onset of adolescent development. However, the start of puberty has had somewhat of an increase in preadolescence (particularly females, as seen with early and precocious puberty), and adolescence has had an occasional extension beyond the teenage years (typically males) compared to previous generations. These changes have made it more difficult to rigidly define the time frame in which adolescence occurs.
Portable → Portable Life is the second album by Danielle Brisebois. Originally scheduled for October 26, 1999, the album's release was delayed until September 2008, when RCA Records released the album as a digital download on iTunes and Amazon MP3. Promotional CD copies of Portable Life and the single "I've Had It" were pressed in 1999 and are now difficult to obtain.
Music → A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Although the origins of music videos date back much further, they came into prominence in the 1980s, when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip" or "film clip".
Mtv → MTV, an initialism of Music Television, is an American network based in New York City that launched on August 1, 1981. The original purpose of the channel was to play music videos guided by on-air hosts known as VJs.
Mp3 → MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 Audio Layer III, more commonly referred to as MP3, is a patented digital audio encoding format using a form of lossy data compression. It is a common audio format for consumer audio storage, as well as a de facto standard of digital audio compression for the transfer and playback of music on digital audio players.
